2.10 Refine your take-home message by whittling it to 150 words or less

As difficult as it may be, it’s a useful exercise to whittle your take-home message to 150 words or less, because this forces you to focus on the most important points of your paper.

If your take-home message is longer than 150 words, it may be better to just expand your take-home message into something that you can use as the Abstract for your paper, then try to distill the Abstract into a succinct take-home message of 150 words or less.
